APRIL 20th & 21st, 2020

The first Canadian Youth Climate Action Summit will bring together over 100 high school students and a member of school faculty from schools across Eastern Ontario.

The Summit will combine informative plenary sessions and workshops in a fun atmosphere for a powerful 2 day educational experience leading to changes in the lives, communities and schools of young people working towards a more sustainable future.

We invite schools in the region to send a team of 4 to 6 individuals to attend this amazing 2 day Summit where participants will have the option of more than 15 different plenary sessions and workshops to :

  • Hear research based information about the economic and ecological consequences of climate change
  • Learn climate resiliency strategies for their communities and schools
  • Develop a Climate Action Plan to bring back and implement in their communities and schools, and in the process save money for their communities and schools
  • Increase their climate literacy and leadership skills

What’s included ? Meals, materials and conference costs underwritten by sponsors

Transportation and accommodation (if necessary) are NOT included.

How Can your Team Participate ——-

1. Identify a team of 4 to 6 people to represent your school. Teams should be comprised of interested students and members of school faculty acting as supervisors

2. Sign up. Pre-registration will begin on Wednesday February 5th, 2020.

The Youth Climate Action Summit is based on a model started by the WILD Center’s Youth Climate Program. The Program works globally to convene and empower young people to implement Climate Action Plans in their schools and communities through Youth Climate Summits.
